President Obama’s push to postpone the February 17 date for the end of analog NTSC broadcasting has met an uncertain fate in the House. And that’s fine with me. I have many objections to the federally-mandated switch to ATSC (digital-only) television, but despite several extensions this deadline has been in place for years. Unfortunately those who still don’t know about the transition are probably the same people who still receive analog over-the-air broadcasts.

I have many things to say about analog broadcasting. Stay tuned, as they used to say, for more on this subject between now and February 17.
