For our rest day, we decided to hop on the Jandri gondola, which in just 17 minutes transports you from the base station (altitude 1650 m) to the glacier (3200 m). It moves really fast.
Mind you, it was a beautiful summer day at the bottom.

We stepped out in our sneakers into heavy snowpack. We were surrounded by European ski teams practicing on the glacier. Our summer packing left us maybe a little unprepared for the howling winds and winter conditions, but hey, you don’t get to do this very often!

We rode the lift back down and went on a proper summer hike.

I loved this cute little sign to keep the mountain bikers in check. Respect the herds.
