    “Ni hao” will work for you in China but there are still a lot of Can­tonese speak­ers in Hong Kong. (At least I think, it’s dif­fer­ent in Cantonese…)

    Take lots of pho­tos. Also, I think you’d enjoy <A href=”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheung_Chau”>Cheung Chau</a>, a small car-less island of HK. It’s acces­si­ble via ferry.
