Yesterday, Boston’s latest public health rule took effect: pharmacies may no longer sell cigarettes. The ban seems a little arbitrary since tobacco is readily available elsewhere, but I support it. Pharmacies should be focused on wellness. Small family-owned shops have long taken that approach, but big chains like CVS don’t care. When, I wonder, will pharmacies be prohibited from selling sodas and junk food?
