the price is wrong, bitch

I saw a head­line today: “[Attor­neys Gen­eral] want Bush admin­is­tra­tion to get tough on gas prices.”

Well, there is no good rea­son for our gov­ern­ment to impose peace­time price con­trols on any­thing at all.

A corol­lary of this the­ory is that no one is enti­tled to cheap gaso­line. To those who think that gas prices are unfair: start your own refin­ery. That’s how Amer­ica works. And if the mar­ket ever becomes impos­si­ble to com­pete in, con­sumers must bear the blame for let­ting it get that way.
