We went to the movies at Coolidge Corner last night. “Wow, big crowd,” I remarked to the girl behind the counter. There were 3 other people in the theatre.
“Yeah, we like to think that our crowd isn’t the Super Bowl-watching type, but I guess we were mostly wrong,” she explained.
We saw Notes on a Scandal. It’s very good. Judi Dench puts on an incredible performance (although I could have done without seeing her reposing in a bathtub). The terrific Philip Glass soundtrack nicely complements the movie’s narrative: subtle, creepy, and occasionally quite startling.
