• A dozen mem­bers of the Mass. State Police, on horse­back, lined up at the pumps of the Shell sta­tion on Boyl­ston. It seri­ously looked like they were about to fuel up.
• One not-so-nimble mem­ber of the State Police, out behind the same Shell sta­tion, stand­ing pre­car­i­ously on a stack of milk crates in an embarass­ing attempt to mount his horse.
• The crowd in the Sub­way din­ing room, which con­sisted of me, and the entire NEMLEC SWAT team.
