I have fin­ished devel­op­ing all the film from my most recent trip to Penang. Scan­ning is pos­si­bly the most bor­ing and least reward­ing task ever, so it might be a while before I go through and extract all the images I want.

Nonethe­less, I am very excited about what my new Leica can do. The cam­era has a bit of a learn­ing curve, but I’m doing a bet­ter job with it than I expected at this stage.

The high, cloud­less equa­to­r­ial sun­light in Malaysia pro­vides a for­mi­da­ble chal­lenge to mak­ing inter­est­ing, con­trasty black and white images out­doors. But the Leica optics are out­ra­geously good. Now and then I’m very happy with the results.
