Dude’s got a lap­top com­puter now, cour­tesy of the employer. It’s an IBM ThinkPad T-something. It’s not so bad. If I had been ordered at gun­point to pur­chase a lap­top com­puter, I would prob­a­bly have picked some­thing like it. It has a pretty big screen and a not-too-small key­board. It also has a Track­Point device, which I dig, because touch­pads are painfully stu­pid. Curi­ously, it has no IEEE 1394 port.

Every­one at the office has so far assumed that I intend to carry it home and back to work every day. That seems kind of dumb to me. Surely they are aware that I already have a home computer?
