Dude’s got a laptop computer now, courtesy of the employer. It’s an IBM ThinkPad T-something. It’s not so bad. If I had been ordered at gunpoint to purchase a laptop computer, I would probably have picked something like it. It has a pretty big screen and a not-too-small keyboard. It also has a TrackPoint device, which I dig, because touchpads are painfully stupid. Curiously, it has no IEEE 1394 port.
Everyone at the office has so far assumed that I intend to carry it home and back to work every day. That seems kind of dumb to me. Surely they are aware that I already have a home computer?
