While inves­ti­gat­ing some noise in my track bike’s bot­tom bracket the other day, I dis­cov­ered that my left crank arm forg­ing is cracked all the way to the tapered spin­dle hole.

I hap­pen to have super-strong (and super-luxurious) Sug­ino 75 cranks. If I have to buy another set, I’m going to be out $200.

This is frus­trat­ing. How could I crack such a ridicu­lously thick piece of alu­minum? I don’t pedal that hard.
