Fact #1. On NFL tele­vi­sion broad­casts, the lit­tle box in the cor­ner of the screen with the score, down, and yards is called a “Fox Box,” after the net­work that orig­i­nated it.

Fact #1.5. This is also the term for the hor­i­zon­tal score and base-occupancy indi­ca­tor in base­ball broadcasts.

Fact #2. The “Fox Box” (on Fox and ESPN at least) is pro­duced by an SGI O2 work­sta­tion. Or some­times an SGI Onyx2. The game clock time is deliv­ered over TCP/IP.

Fact #3. SGI work­sta­tions still rock.
